Full Job Description

To work as a key person and as part of the pre-school team under the direction of the manager. To provide safe, high quality education and care for young children which meets the individual needs of children attending the setting.

Your main duties will include;

  • to act as a key person to a group of children, liaising closely and building effective relationships with parents/carers and ensuring each child's needs are recognised and met.

  • to observe children's play and progress and upload observations and assessments onto Tapestry.

  • to be an effective role-model for the children

  • to deliver rich learning opportunities through interaction and play

  • to work within our team to support the children and their families

  • to build positive relationships with all children

  • to ensure a safe childcare environment and ensure the children always feel safe and secure

  • to attend relevant training and professional development

  • to follow our setting's policies and procedures

  • to help set up the daily program and to help tidy away at the end of the session ( required 2 days per week)

    We are currently seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, hard working and highly motivated person to join our team. Candidates will have a level 2 Early years childcare qualification, be willing to train for their level 3 qualification and will have at least 1 year experience in an Early years childcare setting., Due to the nature of the role the successful applicant must have a clear enhanced DBS check, be registered with the update service and provide satisfactory references.

    > A sound understanding of equal opportunities.
    > A positive and understanding approach to behaviour management.
    > Good written, verbal and organisational skills.
    > Good reflective and evaluation skills.
    > A good knowledge and understanding of how children learn and develop.
    > A sound knowledge of the EYFS.
    > A commitment to keeping up to date with ongoing training.
    >GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above (or equivalent).

    Salary range £11.50 - £12.00 per hour, depending on experience.

    This position is for 26 - 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday, term time only.
