Full Job Description

Entry level position working within the Pre-Press department to efficiently and effectively support the Print process by ensuring all pre-press activities are coordinated and carried out in a timely manner,

  • Responsible for cutting coating blanket plates, ensuring to check the print machine running schedule on Pecas

  • Using the relevant databases to obtain information on available stock coating blankets and issue if available.

  • Cutting new blanket plates if stock blankets are unavailable and ensuring the plates are issued to the machines in a timely manner

  • Timely filing of all blankets once they have been returned to the department

  • To ensure that a sufficient stock of blankets is held on site

  • To construct coating blanket files using the Artios CAD

  • Responsible for drawing all production traces and underlays, using the onsite machinery

  • Responsible for cutting samples, all artwork and wet proofs to support production, carton design and sales departments

  • To check printed pass sheets and create colour standards from these pass sheets

  • Responsible for the booking in of all related artwork files and proofs

  • To maintain the initial work database

  • Responsible for checking graphics and proofs before releasing to Production

  • Work with onsite colour management system to generate customer colour reports and maintain colour management resources

  • To work with the Customer Service team to ensure that work is released to Production in a timely manner

  • To check all artwork against specified check list and highlight any issues

  • To provide support for Graphics to reasonably cover holidays and absence

  • Shift Work - 12 hours days shift, 37.5 hours per week.

    Experience in a similar role would be advantageous

  • Good standard of education, including Maths and English (spoken and written)

  • Competent user of MS Office and other Computer packages

  • Able to work on own initiative

  • Some level of interest in technical issues
