Full Job Description

The Pre-Prep Teaching Assistant is an exciting role which offers to opportunity to assist in the education, social and moral development of pupils.

The successful candidate will:

  • Assist in setting up and preparing activities, including planning and resource management as necessary.

  • Teach individual pupils or groups of children as directed by the teacher.

  • Assist in the compilation of assessments, records and reports.

  • Cover classes using work planned by teachers.

  • Assist with IT in the classroom.

  • Assist with display work and general administrative duties as required by the teacher for the smooth running of the class.

  • Assist on educational visits.

  • Break/Play time supervision as requested.

  • Lunchtime supervision in the dining room and/or outside.

  • Undertake Professional Development in line with the School Development Plan and personal requirements.

  • Follow the whole school Health and Safety policy, Child protection policy and Behaviour Management policy.

  • Attend planning and staff meetings when necessary. These may be outside school hours.

  • To undertake other duties from time to time as the Head requires.

    Essential

  • Minimum Grade C/4 in GCSE Maths and English


  • Qualified to Level 3 in Early Years or similar


  • Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum


  • Flexible, team-working disposition


  • Genuine love of children


  • Willingness to support the Christian ethos of the school

    Desirable

  • In date with Safeguarding training


  • In date with Emergency First Aid training
