Full Job Description

BAM UK and Ireland is recruiting a BI Data Analyst to join the team. This role is based out of our offices in Camberley. BAM operates a flexible working policy.
Your mission

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into effective solutions using MS Power BI, aligning with business needs.

  • Design and develop data models, queries, visualizations, and interactive dashboards that effectively communicate data insights and support decision-making processes.

  • Conduct thorough data analysis to derive insights that contribute to enhanced business performance.

  • Ensure data accuracy, quality, and integrity within Power BI solutions.

  • Optimize and enhance existing Power BI reports, data models, and dashboards for improved performance and user experience. Customize visualizations and utilize DAX functions to optimize report performance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including database administrators and data engineers to support data integrations.

  • Provide end-user support and guidance on Power BI usage, functionality and best practices.

  • Conduct advanced data analysis and employ data mining methods to identify opportunities for organisational improvement.

  • Provide input in the continuous improvement of the data analytics frameworks, processes, and methodologies to ensure accurate data collection, analysis, interpretation, reliability, governance and scalability.

  • Develop and maintain documentation, including user guides and best practices.

  • Conduct thorough testing of developed solutions to ensure accuracy and reliability. Address and resolve any data discrepancies or quality issues promptly.

    Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 3+ years as a BI Data Analyst with a strong track record of designing and developing Power BI solutions and DAX.

  • Experience in data modelling, visualization and report development.

  • Experience of data warehouse technologies, data integration processes and database concepts.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.

  • Proficiency in MS Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power Query and Power Automate; certification desirable.

  • Knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), queries and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with large, complex datasets.

  • Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data integration.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights concisely.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

  • A track record of working in an agile environment (Scrum / Kanban).

  • A proactive and positive 'can' do attitude and self motivated.

  • Foster a data-driven culture within the organisation by promoting the use of data and analytics in decision-making processes.

  • Experience of working in the Construction / Engineering Industry desirable but not essential.

  • Any experience with ETL, Databricks, PySpark, Powerapps and Powerautomate would be advantageous.
