Full Job Description

Leicester Grammar School Sports Centre is based in the grounds of Leicester Grammar School. It is a dual-use centre, which means that the school pupils use the facilities during school hours and the wider community can use the facilities in the evenings, weekends and school holidays.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitably qualified Pool and Sports Centre Manager to effectively manage the running of the Pool and Sports Centre facility, providing a safe and inviting environment for our pupils and external users.

We are able to consider applicants looking for 30 to 42.5 hours per week, term-time (35 weeks per annum) up to 52 weeks per annum, depending on the successful candidate's individual circumstances. The working hours will generally be during the school day, with occasional evening and weekend work. This will be a fixed term employment contract for 12 to 16 months, pending the return of the substantive post-holder. The full-time equivalent salary for this role is £38,000 per annum (pro-rated for a part-time contract).

Experience of operational management relating to running a sports centre, teaching of swimming lessons, lifeguarding, health and safety and external hiring are key requirements for this role. It is therefore essential that applicants are able to manage pool chemicals and pool staff to ensure a safe environment.

It is desirable that applicants hold a swim teachers qualification, to assist with swimming lessons as part of the curriculum for schools within the Trust. It is also desirable, although not essential, that you have proven experience of a commercial sports/leisure centre or have previous experience working within an educational setting with young people.

The ability to maintain lifeguards training and competency, with an NPLQ Training Assessor qualification, could be an advantage.

Full details of the role, benefits and how to apply are available using this link https://cvminder.com/24055eva

The closing date for applications is Friday 7 June 2024. Interviews are currently planned for the following week, but may take place earlier.

Please note that tours of the school form part of the interview for short-listed candidates. Also, references will be obtained prior to interview.

Leicester Grammar School Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and this is reflected in our recruitment procedures. Applicants must have the Right to Work in the UK to be considered.
