PM940 Personal Assistant (Temporary)

I am looking to employ a Personal Assistant to support me in accessing the social activities that I enjoy. This is temporary employment for July and August only., · Any other duties to be discussed and mutually agreed between yourself and your employer., Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.

I'm looking for a PA for my 31 year old son who lives with me in Efail Isaf, RCT. He's a fluent Welsh speaker. He has Muscular Dystrophy (which is a slowly degenerative condition) but is able to walk independently with the aid of a stick. He also has some learning difficulties. Despite his condition he is always happy, although he does lack confidence and needs to form a good relationship with a PA to help him with this. He loves all genres of music, gaming and chatting but is looking for someone to share some time with. He has a good sense of humour and enjoys cooking and eating good food, the garden, and getting out and about in the car., · A person who respects and understands the importance of my privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else's home

· Someone who is adaptable and flexible is essential

· Someone who will be able to support me but not take over

· Able to work Independently and on their own initiative to previously agreed criteria

· Someone trustworthy, reliable and punctual

· Someone with a caring and responsible attitude

· Be willing to undertake any training identified as relating to the post e.g. Manual Handling Course, Basic First Aid

· Car owner/driver essential

There are 8 hrs per week available. A suitable applicant may be offered casual hours after the temp role.

These hours are available in the afternoons between 1pm - 5pm.

RATE OF PAY

£11.50 per hour

40p mileage allowance
