Planning Technical Officer

Development Management are responsible for the determination of all planning applications within the Borough with the objective of securing continued housing, economic growth, regeneration, and infrastructure improvements that respect and enhance the natural and built environment, much of which is designated Green Belt and or Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Technical Team is at the heart of the process and plays a vital role in managing the administrative and technical elements of the planning application process and you will be involved at each stage.

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council's Development Management Team has a permanent vacancy for a full time Planning Technical Officer. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual with a demonstrable interest in the planning process., You are self-motivated and used to working within a team. You have excellent IT skills, well developed time/workload management and prioritising skills. You have Good written and verbal communication and influencing skills will also be evidenced. You will need excellent customer service skills and have a polite, tactful, diplomatic, and confident manner. Being able to communicate calmly and clearly under pressure is a must. You are equally comfortable working from home as you are in an office environment.
