Full Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented Senior Planner to join our ever-expanding PMO team based in London (Canary Wharf).

You will be working on projects that include a Nuclear project Rail scheme and The Beckton sidings Rail Systems project. These are multidisciplinary projects that are complex and give a unique opportunity to gain knowledge on every aspect in Rail construction.

This opportunity will also require you to be involved with work winning and supporting the tender team producing programmes on high profile pipeline projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Ensure that the programme content is functionally compliant with the planning minimum expectations, procedures and guidance.

  • Identify the planning scope, major constraints, and contract requirements.

  • Implement earned value into the project.

  • Lead monthly project reviews with both the client and internal senior management.

  • Establish and agree with the Operations Team key methods of construction, sequencing, installation, and commissioning.

  • Reconcile company and sub-contract plant/labour and major materials elements in conjunction where appropriate Applying resource levelling techniques as necessary

  • The overall planning strategy and the timing & sequence of the Contract Programme activities

  • Produce a client report in accordance with the project contract.

    Experience in planning and project control for medium to large rail projects.

  • Supervise and provide training for a team of planners.

  • Able to work without supervision as an expert in project planning.

  • Operational experience (ie site engineer/site agent)

  • Strong understanding of various NEC contract documents and specifications.

  • Experience with P6 (advanced user) and Microsoft Project

  • An OND/HND in a relevant subject

  • Professional membership of RICS/CIOB/RIBA/ICE/CIBSE (desirable).

  • QSRA (desirable)
