Physics Technician

Full Time From September 2024

This is an exciting opportunity for a Physics Technician to join Hampton School's vibrant and popular Physics department from September 2024. The primary role is to support the teaching of Physics within the department, working with the Senior Technician to offer technical and logistic assistance, setting up and clearing away all the apparatus, equipment and resources necessary for the practical work undertaken by the pupils.

The Department consists of two technicians and twelve teachers, all of whom convey their passion for this wonderful subject through intellectually stimulating and engaging courses. On average, 75 pupils in each of the Lower and Upper Sixth years study Physics in the Sixth Form. The department has two Preparation Rooms and eight Physics Laboratories.

Each of the three science disciplines, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, runs independently of each other with their own technical staff.

The position is full-time, term time and the hours are 8.30am - 4.30pm during Hampton School term time. Previous experience of working in a laboratory and a Physics qualification would both be desirable. Being able to work in a team and enthusiasm are essential and ICT skills would be an asset.

The salary will be between £30,000 - £34,000 (full-time equivalent) commensurate with years' experience and qualifications. Hampton also offers an attractive benefits package including free lunch, cycle to work scheme, fitness facilities and private health, subject to eligibility.
