Alongside and in collaboration with the existing Pharmacy Patient Services Manager, you would be primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of both the dispensary and medicines management services, supporting the Principal Pharmacy Technician to lead on the innovative development of these areas., Working as a Pharmacy Patient Services Manager at NBT NHS Trust you will lead and support the development of all aspects of our patient focused services within the Dispensary and Medicines Management arena. Ensuring we provide exceptional patient centred care that is safe innovative and efficient., As a Pharmacy Patient Services Manager, you will be expected to support and deliver the following key aspects:
To manage all staff working within the Dispensary and Medicines Management areas including pharmacists, trainee pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, ATOs, pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians and porters.
To manage staff levels across Dispensary and Medicines Management at weekends, bank holiday and outside of normal working hours to ensure that sufficient staffing levels are maintained to provide an emergency service in the event of a major incident. Including the rotating of staff to work outside weekend, bank holidays and late nights.
To develop and implement new systems of work in response to developments in service provision and liaise with other departments, directorates, and trusts to develop the role of pharmacy technical and support staff.
Provide effective leadership in ensuring that the supply of medicines is clearly part of service development and contributes to Departmental, Divisional and Trust strategic objectives including value for money and quality initiatives.
Actively participate in the development and implementation of performance/quality improvement and patient safety activities for service area
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of the major incident and business continuity plans for Pharmacy Dispensary and Medicines Management services.

You need to be able to demonstrate considerable experience in managing and developing staff, alongside strong leadership, excellent communication, and outstanding interpersonal skills. You will need to have experience of working at a managerial level within a Hospital Pharmacy. + Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
+ Leadership and or Management qualification such as the Level 3 LM (Institute of Leadership and Management) (Institute of leadership and management) or equivalent qualification that is relevant to the NHS and to degree level
+ Minimum of 5 years practical experience of handling, storage, and distribution of medicinal products
+ Extensive understanding of NHS strategy, policy, and priorities.
+ Accredited final accuracy checking qualification.
+ Accredited Medicines Management qualification
+ Extensive experience of working within Quality Management Systems and Governance frameworks
+ Extensive experience of working with, leading, and implementing IT systems
+ Specialist working knowledge of current legislation, department of health guidelines and MHRA and GPC regulations
+ Good understanding of root cause analysis and other quality initiatives
+ An extensive and specialist knowledge and understanding of hospital pharmacy services
