Full Job Description

I am a lady in my 50,s living in the Neath area. I am married with a teenage son. I suffer with MS, which is getting worse. I am a wheelchair user and have adaptive equipment in my home such as a hoist. I attend yoga and Physio. I like animals and have two dogs and one cat. I would like assistance to take the dogs out for walks on occasions. I have a wheelchair accessible car, which the PA could use if they have a clean driving licence.,

  • Some personal care on occasion

  • Assistance with socialising and accessing the local community

  • Support with attending appointments

  • Light domestic duties

  • Assistance with meal preparation and assistance with feeding

  • Help with using internet and support with correspondence

  • Help with food shopping

  • Some support with manual handling

  • Help and support with my iPhone and computer/laptop.

  • Any other reasonable duties

    Is a Car Driver

  • Is reliable

  • Is able to work flexibly on occasion

  • Has a friendly and cheerful personality

  • Has Manual handling training (not essential as training will be provided)

  • Is good with technology.


  • Previous experience is preferred but not essential

    This post may require a DBS check (the cost of which will be met by NPTCBC). If this post requires you to work with children then it is compulsory for you to have a DBS check prior to commencement.

    If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.

    Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.

    You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.

    You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
