Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced People professional with a background in Human Resources (HR), to join the Bupa Global and UK People Policy and Risk team. As a People Policy Consultant, you will be part of small team of specialists who work closely together to deliver a suite of people policies and processes, and supporting resources that help Bupa to provide a positive experience for our colleagues whilst managing our risks effectively.

You will lead on multiple projects developing People policies, standards and supporting guidance, for the BGUK market unit. Collaborating and building relationships across all levels of stakeholders within the People Team and other functions is essential. Understanding employment legislation, regulation and best practices is vital, as you will need to horizon scan for changes, interpret requirements, make recommendations and then lead on development and implementation. You will provide advice and guidance to the stakeholders in the People Team on policy matters, whilst operating within the boundaries of the law, regulation and statutory responsibilities.

In the BGUK People policy and risk team you have the opportunity to play a critical role in helping Bupa to be a great place to work.

What you'll do:

  • You'll be responsible for the management and development of our suite of Bupa Global & UK (BGUK) People policies, standards and supporting guidance, designing engaging materials to deliver a positive user experience for our people.

  • You'll build effective networks and conduct research and learning, to horizon scan for HR best practice, business change, and developments in regulation and legislation across our market unit.

  • Using insight on internal and external developments, risks and drivers, you'll make recommendations and effectively manage projects to deliver the changes needed, to ensure compliance and have a positive impact on our colleague experience.

  • You'll ensure our changes are effectively planned, communicated and embedded, monitoring their effectiveness to help drive continuous improvements.

    Previous generalist HR experience, with experience writing People policies, standards, and guidance materials/content

  • Current knowledge of employment legislation in UK - outside the UK is advantageous.

  • Experience of working with and influencing senior leadership stakeholders.

  • Able to quickly establish credibility and make an impact, including strong presentation and analysis skills

  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects effectively, with excellent organisational skills to deliver deadlines in a fast paced environment.

  • Understanding of employment legislation and regulatory landscape in other regions
