Full Job Description

People Operations form the foundation of the People Team. We're looking for someone to own the mechanics of People Operations as well as our physical office space, elevating our employee experience.
We're searching for a meticulous, driven and highly organised individual to own People Operations at Freetrade. Proactive and autonomous, this person will compliment our Senior HR Business Partner and Senior Payroll and Benefits Specialist, working closely with our Director of People & Talent.

You will:
People Operations

  • Be the go to person for all systems and people queries (Holiday/sick leave/policies etc)

  • You will own our employee background check and referencing process

  • You will be responsible for all letters, contracts and documents related to employment

  • You will take ownership of our onboarding and offboarding processes

  • You will meticulously maintain our HRIS to ensure it's our one source of truth

  • You will keep all our other people platforms up to date

  • You will be incredibly detailed with documentation, ensuring our google drive and company wiki are both organised to a high level

  • You will support our Compliance team with any regulatory requirements relating to our employees

  • You will be data driven and the go to person for People Reporting & Analytics


  • Office Management
  • You will be the point of contact for our London facilities

  • You will maintain our office environment to high standards

  • You will keep on top of all logistics related to the physical office space and equipment

  • You will own relationships with our key office suppliers

  • Be responsible for office health & safely, fire safety and general building compliance matters.

    You approach People ops through a project management lens

  • You are a strong Collaborator, sharing progress as you go and looping in the right stakeholders when needed to execute your tasks

  • You are an exceptional communicator, both spoken and written

  • You are highly organised by nature

  • You are Data-driven + numerically minded with a knack for analysing data

  • You have a strong attention to detail and can't walk past a problem

  • Experience working in People Operations, ideally in a Generalist or Administrative capacity

  • You have an understanding of the employee lifecycle, and have an exposure to how lean HR teams operate in a startup environment

  • You are comfortable picking up and using different systems (we use Bamboo, G-Suite, Slack, Notion, among others)

  • You are proactive and driven, able to take initiative in order to solve problems, and will seek out new ways to optimise and improve processes

  • It's a bonus if you have experience working in a financially regulated environment

  • You are commercially aware when dealing with suppliers, always ensuring to manage spend in a cost effective.

    The application process consists of a 4 stage process. You will initially have a phone interview with a hiring manager, a skills based interview with memebers of the people team a Values interview before a final with the CEO.
