Full Job Description

Aviva's Governance Team provide supporting services to the Aviva Master Trust (AMT) Trustee, including Board and Sub-Committees. The team has responsibility for compliance with pensions legislation, The Pensions Regulator (TPR) requirements and Codes of Practice.
We have an opportunity for a Pensions Governance Manager to join our team, this role has been crafted to help the Board in achieving and maintaining a strong governance framework, by driving key activities and ultimately improving outcomes for the AMT's members. This is a great job for someone who has exceptional senior stakeholder management skills, as you will act as a trusted adviser (to the Trustee)!
A bit about the job:
The Pensions Governance Manager will maintain and implement a robust governance framework in line with TPR requirements and industry best practice. You will be responsible for driving key governance and supervisory documents. You will collaborate closely with a range of internal business partners to ensure the right people are communicated at the right time to support decision making and statutory deadlines. Working closely with the other AMT Governance Team members you will ensure work progresses and is documented and evidenced in line with our obligations as an authorised master trust.
You will work with the Governance Lead, ensuring the provision of quality MI and governance documentation to enable the Boards within the AMT (including the Member Engagement & Communications, Investment, and Audit & Risk Sub Committees) to achieve their strategic goals. Playing an important role in regular as well as ad hoc projects such as value for members, the Chair Statement and the annual supervisory return, and providing support and advice on a range of topics from projects undertaken by outsourced partners, TPR engagement activity and good practice in an evolving regulatory environment.

  • Member oriented and a subject matter expert in DC pensions governance and The Pensions Regulator

  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others including Trustees

  • Experience of working with DC master trusts would be an advantage

  • National salary circa £45,000, London salary circa £55,000 depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications
