About the role: As the newest member of our patient safety team, you will be helping to ensure the safety of our patients across UK and Ireland. The role will offer support to the management of Patient Safety operational processes, ensuring compliance with Novartis global/local procedures and national and international regulations for pharmacovigilance of Novartis group marketed and investigational products (drugs and devices).,

  • Own the collection, processing, documentation, reporting and follow-up of all adverse event reports for all Novartis products from clinical trials, non-interventional studies, Patient Oriented Programs, literature, Spontaneous Reports, etc.

  • Transcribe, translate and enter data from source documents into safety systems accurately and consistently with emphasis on timeliness and quality.

  • Handle the reporting, submission & distribution of safety reports and any updates/information to Local Health Authorities and clinical operations in collaboration with other Country Organization Departments.

  • Interact and exchange relevant safety information with LHA, Patient Safety associates and other functional groups.

  • Perform reconciliation with other departments (e.g. Medical Information, Quality Assurance and third party contractor, if applicable) for potential AEs resulting from medical inquiries, quality related complaints and other sources.

    Educated to degree level ideally in life sciences or related field

  • Knowledge of Pharmacovigilance regulations

  • Knowledge of pharmacological and medical terminology.

  • Excellent communications, interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
