Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has now arisen for a part time Logistics Assistant to join our busy Production team. After a probationary period and appropriate training, the post holder will be able to complete all of the following duties:

· Act as the first point of contact for all site deliveries

· Safely load and unload goods for receipt and dispatch, adhering to all CVL health & safety protocols

· Process all paperwork relating to the receiving and dispatching of goods; review the completed orders databases / emails and take appropriate action of moving stock for dispatch, storing stock or loading directly on to transport

· Reconcile packing lists & commercial invoices against inbound / outbound goods

· Define damages and / or discrepancies and report / escalate these as appropriate

· Complete thorough quality control checks to ensure all items / products that are returned to site are logged on the system and either reallocated or returned for a refund

· Maintain efficient co-ordination of deliveries such as multiple orders going to the same location on the same vehicle, to reduce any unnecessary costs

· Coordinate goods in and dispatches with the Project Administrators, Production Administrators and 3rd party contract transport companies

· Flag overdue orders to the appropriate Administrator within Production, Projects or Maintenance

· Maintain accurate records within the logistics dispatch database including updating the Purchase Order system according to receipt and dispatch of item

· Audit of stock on an ongoing basis

· Foster positive working relationships with all 3rd party transport companies

· Operate the fork lift truck and manoeuvre products / stock around the site either for storage or for delivery to the relevant department

· Maintain the site in a clean, tidy and safe manner including utilizing recycling options

· Provide banksman duties where external drivers require assistance within site boundaries

· Keep all internal storage areas clear so that all space can be utilized for future completed orders

· Any other tasks as directed by Line Manager

To apply for this position, you do not need previous experience as full training will be provided. What you do need is an excellent attitude, be comfortable with a physical role that will involve heavy lifting and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Although a valid 8 tonne counter balance fork lift licence and previous banksman training is desirable, it is not essential.

This position is being recruited for on a permanent basis, 15 hours per week 08:00 - 11:00, Monday - Friday. Please only apply if you are specifically looking to work part time hours.
