Full Job Description

As a trusted legal partner to the business, building strong relationships with teams is important, with this in mind we'd ideally like the person in this role to visit the office a couple of times a week. Therefore, the successful applicant should be in or within a reasonable commute to London, so you can really get plugged into the Pod Point experience.
Join the EVolution:
You'll be a first point of contact for legal queries alongside our awesome team of legal counsel, offering invaluable support and advice. You'll also know when it's appropriate to escalate or cross-refer within the function to ensure a high-quality legal support service is provided.
Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate our contract review and execution process, advising business teams on third-party contract terms and facilitating communication with external counsel.

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts, ensuring legal compliance.

  • Organise legal documents and records, including contracts and corporate filings, using document management systems.

  • Support our Company Secretary with corporate governance activities, including drafting resolutions and ensuring statutory compliance.

  • Assist our Data Protection Officer (DPO) in maintaining data privacy artifacts and ensuring compliance with data protection laws.


  • Responsibilities:
  • Conduct legal research on regulations, case law and industry standards.

  • Support our legal team in managing and protecting intellectual property assets.

  • Assist our legal counsel in litigation support, including evidence gathering and document preparation.

  • Identify legal risks, supporting the General Counsel with our risk management process and providing advice to mitigate risks.

  • Assist in internal investigations concerning regulatory and legal matters.

  • Provide support in corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.

  • Offer training and guidance to business teams on legal matters.

  • Assist in managing and tracking legal costs and external legal spend.

  • Undertake additional responsibilities or tasks as required by the legal team.

    We think the role would be great for somebody who has hands-on experience working within the legal department of a corporate entity, ideally a Public Limited Company. As well as someone with:

  • Strong understanding of contract law, corporate governance principles and data privacy laws.

  • Experience working within robust corporate governance, regulatory compliance frameworks, navigating complex legal issues and providing timely practical solutions.

  • Proven ability to collaborate within legal and cross-functional teams, including internal stakeholders and external counsel.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to identify legal risks and provide solutions.

  • Exceptional communication skills, paired with strong organisation, meticulous attention to detail, and outstanding time management abilities.

  • High professional and ethical standards.

  • Bachelor's degree in law or legal studies; paralegal qualification; or related fields preferred.
