Full Job Description

The role will be to provide legal services to support the day to day activities of the business but will also involve advising on property, insurance, company secretarial, governance and compliance matters. The role will suit someone who has experience of working on commercial contracts and who is able to work across various legal disciplines.

You will be required to liaise with teams across the business, including the commercial and operations teams, the supply chain, finance team and our health and safety colleagues.

Where external counsel are instructed, you will be expected to liaise with them and manage communications between external counsel and the relevant KAEFER team. You will be customer facing and will be expected to communicate directly with customer legal and commercial teams in relation to contract negotiations.

Key accountabilities

Day to day you will;

Ø Review, draft and negotiate contracts, report on key legal risks

Ø Assist with contract execution, cataloguing and storage

Ø Participate in bid approval meetings and present findings on contract risks

Ø Assist with company secretarial and governance matters

Ø Assist with property portfolio management including reviewing and agreeing heads of terms for new premises, lease negotiations and liaising with surveyors

Ø Instruct and liaise with external counsel

Ø Conduct legal research and present of findings

Ø Assist with policy and procedure improvement and implementation

Ø Assist in delivery of training sessions delivered to internal teams

Ø Develop relationships with and liaise with internal departments

Law degree minimum 2:1 or non-law degree and successful completion of conversion course.

Experience of working in a legal environment in a paralegal or similar role

Experience of running or being responsible for own case/work load

Excellent communication skills (Written and Oral)

A good team player but ability to work independently

Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Ability to network and build relationships with key stakeholders

Desirable

Experience of litigation or contentions matters

Experience of construction or engineering law

Full UK Driving Licence

Flexibility to work outside of contracted hours

Ability to travel within UK and Ireland (on an occasional basis).
