Full Job Description

Your role will entail working under the supervision of our experts in the Governance, Funding & Corporate Department, across all sub-teams, who act primarily for charities and not-for-profit organisations including national name charities, housing associations, social businesses and health and social care providers. Work will be varied to meet the needs of the department and may include e.g.:

  • working with Funding team colleagues on board resolutions approving the entering into of loan transactions, co-ordinating documents and drafting conditions precedent;

  • the Corporate team with drafting ancillary documents, arranging completions, data room management;

  • working with the Governance team on charity incorporations, legal structures, drafting constitutional documents, helping to advise our clients on their governance arrangements and their regulation by the Regulator of Social Housing, Companies House, Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Charity Commission; and

  • attending meetings with colleagues and researching areas of law across all sub-teams when needed.


  • Key duties include:
  • Maintaining the highest standards of honesty, confidentiality and integrity in all dealings with clients, colleagues and all people with whom you come into contact.

  • Recording accurately and comprehensively all time in accordance with the firm's time recording system, if applicable.

  • Working with and for colleagues across the department to support the smooth progression of matters, providing timely, accurate information and support.

  • Being involved in the production of briefings, newsletters and other documents for the benefit of clients generally.

  • Carrying out such administrative duties as may be required for the proper collation of the department's resources.

  • Carry out all other reasonable duties as required in order to maintain efficient operation of all aspects of the department's needs.

    You will have a personable and professional demeanour, attention to detail in written work and openness to learning and developing legal skills. An interest and curiosity in our key client areas are essential., General base company law knowledge is expected. You should have good personal organisation and time management skills, good IT skills and be keen to learn to utilise systems and programmes to deliver work effectively and efficiently.
