Full Job Description

At the forefront of modern farming and food production, G's is one of the largest fresh produce providers in the UK, producing over one billion packs of healthy products a year. We are looking to recruit a new role into the Packaging team with support from the wider G's functions and packaging partners, working to lead the packaging projects and its development with a focus on driving innovation. Key responsibilities for our Packaging Technologist: Working with packaging suppliers and internal stakeholders to: Understand and present opportunities for packaging innovation. Lead across UK sites all packaging projects, aligned to product requirements, and packing facilities. Drive sustainability agenda across all packaging. Conduct packaging trials to assess suitability and evaluate performance across diverse conditions. Sign off all product packaging specifications and save in dedicated location. Work cross functionally with Commercial, Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, and Suppliers, facilitating seamless project delivery aligned with key business objectives. Collaborate closely with suppliers to identify packaging solutions and recognise opportunities for reduction without compromising quality standards. Build and develop knowledge of technological advancements in the packaging field. Candidate requirements: Packaging Development experience with a strong understanding of packaging components, supplier, and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of salad or vegetable crop preferable. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). Be organised and be able to manage multiple projects. Proactive and creative approach to problem solving. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
