Optical Lab / glazing Technician

An experienced Optical Glazing Technician is required to join a leading optical lens manufacturer based in Birmingham. The lab currently supplies a full glazing service to Opticians across the UK, and you will be responsible for preparing customer prescriptions to the highest standards possible.

• Previous glazing experience is essential


Duties:
- Conduct lens edging, tinting, and fitting in accordance with prescriptions
- Utilise laboratory equipment to grind and polish lenses
- Perform frame adjustments and repairs
- Assist in maintaining inventory of optical supplies
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and offering professional advice
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the optical laboratory

• Frame tracing


• Manual & automated blocking


• Lens edging (manual & automated)


• Rimless drilling & milling


• Hand finishing and fitting of;


• Full rim metal/plastic frames


• Supra/nylon frames


• Rimless frames
