Full Job Description

The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing operational processes to ensure the effective flow of goods into, through and out of the warehouse to the point of delivery. Management of Commercial Vehicle Fleet and drivers. Transport and H&S Compliance. Ensure customer service levels meet company KPI's with an active interface between operations, customer service, telesales and sales. Maintain focus on quality management systems and lean principles to ensure Bunzl remains an efficient, low cost operator., · Continuously assess warehouse and driver team members against identified performance criteria and KPIs

· Manage, support and coach operational staff and drivers

· Maintain fleet operations in line with legal requirements and Bunzl compliance processes

· Maintain Bunzl EHS policies and procedures

· Manage workplace and equipment in line with legal requirements and Bunzl EHS policies

· Ensure that branch operational costs are maintained within budget

· Management of branch facility - Manage maintenance and contractors within budget expectations and ensure that the working environment complies with all health, safety and fire regulations

· Ensure that there is an active interface between Operations, Customer Service, and Sales

· Effective team management

· Experience of successful warehouse management

· Experience of managing a Commercial Vehicle Fleet and drivers

§ OLAT / CPC beneficial

· Experience of a high volume, high service, distribution industry

· IOSH preferred or similar H&S qualified

· Effective leadership and coach to wider Operations Managers

· Transferrable skills from a Distribution / FM background advantageous

· Counterbalance / Aisle Master Forklift licence advantageous
