We offer an exciting opportunity for an O&M Technical Portfolio Manager to represent the Offshore Generation organisation in new asset projects.

The Operational Readiness & Excellence department in Generation Offshore ensures the ongoing success of our offshore wind farms by managing major change and product development projects.

The Technical Portfolio Management team within Operational Readiness department contributes significantly by sharing lessons learnt throughout project lifecycles. This helps optimise operational performance by guiding fact based decision-making with data and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Your role / what will you do?

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, dynamic, team player, who is motivated by driving continuous improvement, through bringing lessons learnt into our new projects, as the O&M Technical Portfolio Manager represents the Offshore Generation organisation in new asset projects being planned and constructed from the engineering design phase until the preparation for end of DNP and take over scope from the WTG manufacturer. This includes a variety of tasks, depending on project maturity.

O&M Technical Portfolio Managers are allocated portfolio responsibility within an assigned workstream or multiple workstreams, dependent on the O&M TPM experience, capacity needed and project need(s).

Within the assigned workstream(s) the O&M Technical Portfolio Managers will have the responsibility to be the Generation voice towards the projects in development and construction and supporting end of DNP preparations, where required. The portfolio responsibility includes a requirement to ensure adherence to O&M standards and requirements from early conception of new windfarms, handover from construction to Generation and through to end of warranty.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining standard O&M procedures, which will be included in tenders (e.g. Service agreements with turbine suppliers). You may be asked to assist in negotiating these requirements.

  • Providing technical and cost input for projects during development and construction phases.

  • Collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to gather input, implement best practices, and involve specialists as needed.

  • Assessing change requests and project customisations for asset project packages.

  • Reviewing relevant documentation and ensuring that project packages deliver necessary documents (e.g. As Built, O&M Manuals etc.) for effective operation.

  • Participating in design meetings and evaluations.

  • Ensuring quality inspections are carried out, and participating, as needed.

  • Facilitating the smooth handover of new projects to be operable.

  • Contributing to innovation projects and providing feedback.

  • Identifying and managing project risks.

  • Capturing lessons learnt for future projects.

  • Travelling to project sites, including offshore locations.


  • The role as an O&M Technical Portfolio Manager has many stakeholders both internally and externally. Among the key interfaces are:
  • Design teams

  • Engineering Technical authorities

  • O&M Package Managers

  • Commercial Management

  • Operational sites

  • Generation functions (e.g. Supply Chain, Documentation, Asset integrity Management, Asset Management)


  • Your profile / who are you?

    You can manage your workstream without assistance. You are certainly recognised within your immediate organisation as \"a person to ask\" when difficult questions arise relating to your area of responsibility.
  • You can manage complexity including organisational/professional issues.

  • You have consistently provided practical/relevant ideas and perspectives on process or practice improvements which may easily be implemented.

  • You are able to participate in senior level discussions.

  • You are able to translate complex nuances into easy-to-understand terms.

  • You are able to contribute actively to the development of standards and improvements.


  • Next this this you have minimum 6 years of relevant experience within offshore wind, preferably in an O&M capacity or specifically within assigned technical workstream (Mechanical / electrical / SCADA / transmission assets- an experience bias towards mechanical or electrical is acceptable).
  • Working knowledge of typically used contract terms in offshore wind. Experience with participation in or providing support to negotiations of complex and high value contracts.

  • Strategic mindset with capability to formulate the standards and ensure execution and compliance.

  • Strong technical understanding with the ability to resolve detail issues and to clearly convey complex technical matters and life cycle costing.

  • Commercial and financial acumen would bring added value.

  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable at presenting, building relationships and influencing others, while working effectively across different cultures and geographical locations, whilst embracing and living by the Vattenfall code of conduct "Wind Code", within BA Wind.

  • Fluent in English (written and verbal) is a prerequisite.

  • A positive mindset with strong self-motivation and resilience, a flexible and proactive approach to tackling problems and comfortable at simultaneously manage several tasks to often challenging deadlines.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree within engineering or similar competences such as relevant technical experience
