Full Job Description

Staff Communications and Relationships Foster relationships with established contacts and team members and proactively manage these relationships. Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders. Operate effectively in a flexible and demanding environment. Proactively engage with NHS staff at all levels on a variety of topics. Work with colleagues within the Safer Staffing workstream to support the implementation of new staffing systems and processes. Provide analytical support to members of the Safer Staffing team to ensure they can provide relevant up to date information to specialist teams as needed. Support the facilitation of meetings and events as required. Deliver presentations to a range of audiences. Able to communicate sensitive information about review recommendations or change with a high level of diplomacy. Analytical and Judgemental Skills Work within the Trust guidelines regarding record keeping, data collection, safeguarding,
confidentiality and health & safety. Contribute to reports as required within UHL e.g. Quality Dashboards and performance reports across UHL. Able to assess the robustness of data and ensure data analysis for projects and programmes is sufficient, robust and reliable. Able to perform complex analyses on data relevant to projects and programmes, including presenting data in a variety of formats, bar charts, statistical process control charts. Able to synthesise multiple sources to communicate on complex issues. Responsible for tracking data, including risks and issues, continuously to quickly resolve failures to meet project requirements and act accordingly to inform team members as appropriate. Analyses data to provide evidence for projects and programmes. Able to identify data requirements, define analysis requirements, design data gathering and desired outputs. Planning and Organisational Skills To plan, organise and deliver data requirements for programmes of work within the Corporate
Nursing Workforce Team. To create, maintain and track programmes of work that require data for timely submission, including the monthly staffing fill rates for NHSEi. To report risks and issues and take appropriate action where necessary to resolve issues, have a good knowledge of the incident reporting system and how it works to report incidents and risks. Support the roll out of key programmes of work, such as SafeCare, e-Rostering, The Safer Nursing Care Tool (SNCT). To plan own work schedule to ensure all deadlines are met in relation to submission of data to relevant leads. To be responsible for self-organisation/time management. Personal Skills Frequent use of a VDU (visual display unit) for long periods during the working day. Able to cope with shifting priorities and demands. Able to concentrate for prolonged periods when undertaking analysis and producing reports. The post holder will be required to use road to travel to key meetings & events across UHL.
Promote an innovative, adaptable and collaborative culture within the team. The post holder is guided by precedent and broad occupational policies, protocols, procedures or codes of conduct. Work is managed rather than supervised and results and outcomes are assessed at agreed intervals. Plan own work objectives and those in service managed in line with team objectives using initiative and acting independently. Patient Care Support projects and programmes that will improve patient care and outcomes. Policy/Service Development Review and participate in the writing of all relevant policies and guidelines to ensure that they are up to date. Share policy development within UHL and external partners to ensure continuity of care. To identify areas for improvement in programmes of work facilitated by the Safer Staffing team to provide efficiencies and a quality service for patients and staff. Finance Complete orders for stock and non-stock items relevant to own work as
required. Support the review of budgets for rostering purposes and demonstrate cost savings through data and reporting. Provide reports to demonstrate efficiencies and benefits realisation of electronic rostering. Information Technology To work skilfully, proficiently and confidently with required application software to fulfil role (e.g., Microsoft applications, electronic rostering platforms and NHS platforms, such as ESR). To access a wide range of IT systems throughout UHL to inform the compilation of a wide range of reports as needed by the team on a regular basis. Research and Development To take responsibility for own learning and development including identifying any areas of learning that might add to the knowledge base of the wider team. Undertakes research to support projects and programmes. Analyses data to provide evidence for projects and programmes.
