Full Job Description

The Priory Learning Trust is recruiting a Nursery Manager to work at our Little Learners Nursery at Castle Batch Primary Academy in Worle, Weston-super-Mare.

The aims and ambitions of the Nursery over the next few years are really exciting and we will require a pro-active, problem solving team player to cheerfully get involved to continue the work already being carried out to enhance our successful nursery for the youngest members of the Castle Batch community.

As part of this role, you will;

  • Work within the general direction of the Principal, undertake the full range of managerial duties and responsibilities in the school Nursery; ensuring the provision of high quality childcare, in a caring and stimulating environment, for children up to the age of five years.

  • Act as an integral part of The Priory Learning Trust Early Years team, and as such to make a significant contribution to the overall aims of the Trust, including helping to determine clear and effective policies and procedures both in and out of term time.

  • Lead in the planning and delivery of activities, monitoring, evaluation and care for children, ensuring that the children's learning and developmental needs are met, and that the Nursery provides a warm, welcoming and supportive environment to the children and their families.


  • The successful candidate will have;
  • A good standard of general education.

  • NNED/HNC or NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Child Care and Education.

  • Significant experience in directly working with children in a Care, Early Years or Play setting as a lead practitioner.

    This role involves working with children on a daily basis and is therefore in regulated activity.
