Nursery Chef

We are looking for a special person to cook wholesome meals for our nursery children. We provide meals for up to 50 children each day (breakfast, lunch and late afternoon tea)

The role requires someone with cooking experience, ideally in a nursery or care home environment and will take full responsibility for the kitchen. This may include menu planning, budgeting, ordering food and ensuring safe food hygiene practices are in place. Ideally, you will be qualified to NVQ level 3 but this can be supported for the right candidate.

This is a stand alone role and will require someone who is organised and able to multi task as you will be preparing meals, delivering them to rooms and clearing up.

There is also an opportunity to run cooking sessions with the children so you must feel comfortable in interacting with children under 5.

The hours are flexible each day although you could be working up to 40 hours each week, Monday to Friday.

As this role is in a nursery, an enhanced DBS is required.

• Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner


• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently


• Maintain a clean working station whilst adhering to health & safety standards


• Assist with the cleaning and organisation of kitchen and equipment


• Restock items as needed throughout the shift


• Adhere to all food hygiene & safety standards

Requirements

Licence/Certification:

• Food hygiene certificate at minimum level 2 (required)
