Full Job Description

The National Respiratory Audit Programme (NRAP) is looking to recruit and train 10 Improvement

Coaches across England and Wales who are passionate about healthcare improvement, to support respiratory teams who want to achieve sustained improvement in their services. This round builds on the successful programme run between 2021-2023.

Overview of the role

Coaches will receive all training they need via self-directed online learning to be completed in July - September 2024, which takes approximately one hour to complete, however it is expected coaches have a level of experience and understanding of healthcare improvement. Coaches will also be invited to a virtual workshop for coaches taking place on 24 September 2024, where they can meet coaching peers and the NRAP team.

Coaches will use the tools acquired from this training to provide support to local respiratory teams who are working on their chosen improvement projects. From October 2024, coaches will work with the NRAP team to conduct a virtual kick-off workshop with local respiratory teams and will then continue to support teams in a series of follow-up sessions taking place over a 6-12-month period. Further details on the time commitment required for this role are provided in the attached role description.

Coaches are a hugely valued part of this programme. By establishing Coaches as a source of local support, respiratory teams will be better able to engage in improvement projects and maintain momentum in achieving sustainable improvement in services.

What you'll gain:

  • Leadership experience in an improvement role

  • Peer networking and support from Coaches across England and Wales

  • Access to tailored online learning

  • Experience driving meaningful change and improvement in the care of patients
