Full Job Description

We're seeking a future team member for the role of Currency Portfolio Manager to join our Fixed Income team. This role is located in London - HYBRID.

Responsible for the currency strategies implemented across all flagship funds and PnL generation. Suggests and contributes to macro debate and more specific to currency allocations with other senior investors of the team contributing to return objectives of clients and teams desired risk exposures.

Enhance currency framework and add to existing FX models. Comes up with efficient structures to implement currency views, including options.

Manages assets independently within investment policy guidelines to achieve investment objectives. Implements investment strategies consistent with client financial goals and risk tolerance and in accordance with the investment policies/philosophies and procedures and applicable regulations. Works with research, strategy team members and other members of the portfolio teams.

Will meet with clients and new business prospects to communicate investment strategy, discuss market performance, and current market conditions.

Serve on the asset allocation committee.

Help with any ad-hoc tasks related to client and internal demands.

Supports investment discussion at Newton and BNY Mellon.

Key Responsibilities

Make informed decisions on changes that impact the portfolio.

Independently implement investment strategies for more complex funds/strategies consistent with client financial goals and risk tolerance and in accordance with the investment policies/philosophies and procedures and applicable regulations.

Evaluate the performance of investments and make timey changes to a portfolio to meet investment objectives or allocation guidelines.

Meet with clients and new business prospects to communicate investment strategy, discuss performance, and review current market conditions.

  • Economics/Finance/Maths/Engineering background ideally.

  • Good quants skill and coding preferable.

  • Knowledge of options structures and strategies.

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
