  • ensure that all customer homes are maintained to the highest possible standards and that all statutory and regulatory requirements are met

  • assemble and install kitchens & bathrooms, fitting cupboards, worktops, appliances, non-slip and tiled flooring and accessories, plumbing, patch plastering, ceramic tiling and associated kitchen fitting skills

  • be able to complete varied types of works associated with a multi trade role to a high standard and demonstrate competence in Joinery, Plumbing, Plastering, PVC'u door/window installation.

  • ensure that works are completed within the target response times.

  • provide a high standard of service to all customers.

  • carry out repairs and maintenance to all customer homes in accordance with current Building Regulations, Health & Safety Legislation and Association timescales.

  • ensure all PPE equipment issued is accounted for at all times and kept safe and secure

  • use/wear an apply all PPE issued by Sovini Property Services.

  • assist colleagues where necessary to ensure Sovini Property Services obligations are completely fulfilled

  • meet appraisal targets and support the delivery and achievement of overall business objectives

  • positively promote and demonstrate the values required by the business

  • Commit to equality and diversity and to promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.

  • partake in Sovini's out of hours repairs service on a rota basis if required

  • attend internal and external training as deemed required for this role

  • Adhere with the Health and Safety at Work Act to take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts and omissions.

  • Qualified to a minimum level of City and Guilds NVQ or equivalent (level 2) in either Joinery or Plumbing

  • Competent in three of the following: Joinery, Plumbing, Plastering, Floor and Wall Tiling

  • Experience of working in a building environment and completing repair work in occupied homes or void properties

  • Good numeracy and literacy skills

  • A knowledge of relevant legislation and/or Codes of Practice i.e. Construction, Building Regulations and Health & Safety

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with tenants, external agencies and office based colleagues

  • Able to plan and prioritise to ensure the effective use of own time

  • Commitment to providing a high quality service to all customers

  • Hold full UK driving licence with maximum of 6 penalty points

  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate across multiple channels including Microsoft Teams, Face to Face and Email.

  • Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential:
  • Qualified to a level of City and Guilds NVQ or equivalent (level 3) in either Joinery or Plumbing

  • Familiar with PDA and other electronic devices

  • Experience working in repairs and maintenance in housing services

    Competitive salary - £32,420.82

  • Monthly tool allowance of £30 pm. - SPS only

  • Hours - 40 per week (Monday-Friday Pattern).
