Full Job Description

Working for a large food manufacturer in Middlesbrough, we are looking for a multi-drop van driver to be the face of our brand when delivering food-to-go items to customers.

Shift start times vary from 3am - 6am, 5 days a week on a rotation of Monday - Friday with 1 weekend shift worked every 3 weeks as a minimum. Weekly hours vary but you can expect regular rounds, 5 days a week and you will be paid for every hour worked.

What you will be doing:

All training will be provided to ensure the delivery of sandwiches and food-to-go items on time and in full to our large customer base. It is the Drivers responsibility to ensure that goods are delivered meeting customer specifications and all food safety guidelines are maintained throughout the journey. Delivery rounds will be varied and training on different rounds will be given where required. We expect our drivers to:

  • Complete all food safety and transport documentation as required on every shift.

  • Conduct vehicle temperature checks to be carried out in the vehicle prior to each delivery to ensure goods are within required temperature specifications.

  • Work within your driving licence parameters which will be monitored and licence checks completed twice annually.

  • Notify us of any personal changes including any driving convictions and or licencing / health changes should be advised to the business immediately.

  • Complete vehicle checks prior to any journey and report any vehicle defects found at any point during their use of a company vehicle via the defect forms provided.

  • Maintain cleanliness both inside the cab, outside of the vehicle and in the goods holding fridge, ensuring that on handover, vehicles are in a clean and tidy state

  • Complete all training as required by the company, including level 2 food safety training. The driver will be needed to complete any additional driver training as necessary as and where company or legislation dictates.

  • Return empty basket and pallet equipment on each journey and unload into storage area prior to cleaning vehicle.

  • Complete fully all times and details on the daily control sheets

  • Refuel vehicles prior to return, obtaining receipts and returning to site on a daily basis

  • Report correct odometer readings on all paperwork

  • Report any damage to vehicles via vehicle check paperwork when found prior to departure.

  • Report any Road Traffic Incidents to the office as soon as you are safely able to do so during the journey. Complete a vehicle accident report on return to site.

    Have had a full UK / EU / EEA driving licence for at least 24 months with no more than 6 penalty points
