Full Job Description

The successful candidate will join our Primary Care Mental Health (PCMH) service, which bridges the gap between NHS Talking Therapies and Community Mental Health Services. The service provides triage, assessment, signposting, referral and brief NICE guidance interventions delivered through a person-centered and recovery focused model.

The Primary Care Mental Health Team is made up of skilled clinicians who are responsible for developing and improving services for people with common mental health problems in primary care.

The successful candidate will work closely with Primary, Secondary and Specialist Care Teams, ensuring that individuals with mental health problems are stepped up/down and receive care and treatment appropriate to their individual needs.

Main duties of the job

  • The role will include carrying a clinical case load and clinically managing Primary Care Mental Health Nurses, supported by the Team Manager, PAN Trust PCMH Clinical Lead.

  • Deliver and receive clinical supervision and annual Personal Development Conversations (PDC).

  • To work closely with the PAN Trust (PCMH) Clinical Lead to contribute to the development of evidence based practice with the main aim being to reduce clinical risk and optimise wellbeing.

  • Offer training and advice to other professionals both internal and external to the organisation

  • All staff are required to undertake specific administrative and preceptor tasks; including record keeping, inputting activity data, audit and participating within business and service development meetings.

  • To implement and evaluate and ensure maintenance of clinical standards within the team.

  • To undertake and develop clinical assessment, triage and brief interventions.

    We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a motivated Band 7 Clinical Lead nurse to join our Primary Care Mental Health Team in Sandwell - working M-F 9am to 5pm

    Essential Criteria

    NMC Registered Nurse in Mental Health

    Significant post registration experience of working in the community mental health services/primary mental health care,
  • Entry on a register held by NMC (Sub Part1 Registered Nurse Mental Health

  • Experience in offering and delivering evidence based interventions

  • Post registration experience of working in the community mental health services/primary mental health care

  • Experience of teaching and supervising others


  • Desirable criteria
  • ENB 998 or equivalent

  • Post graduate diploma in evidenced based psychological therapies, delivering evidence based interventions: 1 year (preferred)

  • community or primary care: 1 year (preferred)


  • Licence/Certification:
  • RMN (required)
