Full Job Description

Reporting into a Brands Director, the Media Manager is accountable for the overall development and application of media across the Asahi UK brand portfolio to ensure the most effective campaign delivery across the communications mix.

You will have a deep understanding of the changing media landscape and for translating the brand strategy and business objectives into a clear and actionable media strategy that maximises reach, impact and consideration. This role also offers an exciting opportunity to grow the existing capabilities within the marketing team to help shape the future direction through a deep understanding of media and consumer behaviour.

Key Accountabilities

The Media Manager is responsible for the following key outputs and accountabilities:

  • You'll be responsible for developing media plans that are strategic and insight-driven with the goal of efficiently growing our portfolio of brands.

  • Develop and co-ordinate cross channel media plans across the portfolio built on a strong understanding of customer journeys through the funnel.

  • Manage the day-to-day planning and execution of both offline and digital media campaigns, optimising where required to constantly increase spend effectiveness.

  • Work closely with the brand marketing teams to advise and ensure communication assets are developed in line with plan to improve effectiveness at every point.

  • Keep track of latest developments in media and propose new opportunities to the wider marketing team including trials to 'test & learn'.

  • Work with internal stakeholders to measure the effectiveness of our media activity and report internally, with knowledge on econometric modelling and MMM (Marketing Mix Modelling)

  • Lead ongoing media agency relationship to continually improve effectiveness.

  • Drive and oversee campaign planning, project management and timelines with agencies

  • Have experience in fostering relationships and evaluating media auditor relationships

  • Understand all media terminology and media concepts offline and digital, whilst possessing a strong digital understanding across emerging media and technology

    Higher Education (University level) desirable.

  • At least 5-7 years' experience in media roles, either in house or with an agency.

  • Experience of premium drinks or FMCG preferred.

  • Significant media experience and expertise, with a deep understanding of the media landscape and key levers.

  • Experience working across varied external partners such as agencies, media partners, influencers etc.

  • Ability to review and interrogate media agency strategy and to ensure the response is of the highest quality

  • Proven experience of managing cross channel campaigns with success.

  • Experience and knowledge of media buying platforms and global partners (such as Meta Business Suite, Google Ads, etc.)

  • Experience and knowledge of the media buying ecosystems across the entire channel mix with a clear understanding of how to leverage different channels for different campaign purposes

  • Strong understanding of measuring integrated, multi-channel campaigns.

  • Proven negotiation skills and previous experience with delivering successful partnerships.

  • Strong budget management experience and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail., Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships at all levels inside and outside the organisation

  • Strong communication skills. Ability to clearly and coherently deliver ideas that inspire

  • Ability to influence, persuade and negotiate effectively

  • A proactive initiator with a positive hands-on attitude, flexible and able to balance big company attitude with the resourcefulness required to achieve results in a small team
