Full Job Description

The Estates Department is looking for a Mechanical Technician with a background preferably gained in a building services or healthcare
environment.
The successful applicant will be required to carry out planned and reactive mechanical works inclusive of repair, maintenance and improvement to
the building and hospital facilities, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for staff and visitors.
The vacancy will be based at our Winchester Hospital site, however the role can include work on any of the Trust sites.
The successful applicant will require good communication skills and an empathetic approach to staff and patients in the challenging hospital
environment.
The applicant will form part of the mechanical on-call team for which there is an additional stand-by allowance payment of circa £2,000 - £2,500 per
annum when undertaking a 1 week in 5 week availability.
The applicant must have the physical ability and agility to carry out manual handling.
Must have a current full UK driving license., Performs work including activities which are complex and/or non-routine. Responsible for technical fault finding, diagnosis, repair, acceptance testing and calibration on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment, e.g. commercial & domestic heating, water systems, ventilation and steam plant. This is not an exhaustive list but provides examples of the type and range of systems and equipment worked on.
For a suitable candidate, additional training will be given for them to fully meet the person specification.
Undertaking maintenance, repairs, minor improvement and capital work across the Trust as directed by management, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.
Assists the Mechanical Operations Officer to deliver business plans, review planned maintenance procedures and support the organisation.
The role would be principally based on the Winchester site (including maintenance at Andover site), however dependant on the needs of the service it may be required to work on the other site locations., Happy to Talk Flexible Working - all requests for flexible and part time working will be considered.
