Full Job Description

  • Design and engineer specifications for equipment such as pumps, pipelines, and filters for various applications within the Energy (Nuclear) sector.

  • Conduct hands-on calculations, particularly in pressure drop analysis, to ensure optimal performance of mechanical systems.

  • Develop and review P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) for wastewater and compressed air systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.

  • Optioneering and concept definition to identify system requirements.

  • Support the full project lifecycle from concept development and requirements gathering to verification and validation.

  • Write technical reports to document evidence gathered and technical decisions

  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure project success.

    Experienced Engineer with a background in Mechanical Piping and Water Systems or Chemical Process Engineering.

  • Driven and Motivated Engineer with the ability to grow and lead a team.

  • An Engineer who is an expert in understanding, designing, and configuring industrial fluid systems.

  • Experience in designing equipment such as pumps, pipelines, and filters

  • Exposure to containment systems, preferably in environments such as Sellafield, Westinghouse, or EDF suppliers

  • Result-Oriented

  • Proactive, Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience as an Engineer involved with mechanical piping, water systems, or chemical process engineering.

  • + Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or 3 years if highly specific to the role.
  • Experience with Nuclear systems is advantageous.

  • Proficiency in applying theories of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and hydraulics engineering principles

  • Strong comprehension of design documentation for industrial fluid systems with the ability to share and convey this knowledge.

  • Understanding of industry standard design codes and their application to the design process (i.e. ASME)

  • An effective and thorough communicator with leadership qualities.

  • Position based in Derby or Warrington, with a very flexible schedule requiring occasional on-site presence.
