Full Job Description

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver creative and engaging Maths lessons for KS3/4 students with dyslexia and dyscalculia.

  • Use innovative teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.

  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to succeed.

  • Collaborate with other teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.

  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to address specific needs and goals.

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements.

    As a Maths Teacher in our SEN School, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective Maths lessons to students with dyslexia and some with dyscalculia. You will lead a class of 10-12 pupils, using your excellent communication skills and creativity to make Maths accessible and enjoyable for all students. Your role will involve planning and implementing a curriculum that meets the needs of each learner, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment., Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching Maths at KS3/4 level, ideally within an SEN setting.

  • Strong understanding of dyslexia, dyscalculia, and effective teaching strategies for students with these needs.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Creative approach to lesson planning and delivery.

  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with special educational needs.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
