Full Job Description

As Marketing & Events Executive at Discover Hastings, you will work closely with the Commercial & Operations Manager to execute marketing strategies and coordinate exciting events across our attractions. Your primary focus will be on marketing initiatives, including social media management, website maintenance, e-marketing campaigns, SEO optimisation, partnerships and content creation. Additionally, you will be responsible for planning and executing seasonal events and corporate functions to enhance the Discover Hastings offering and drive attendance.

Responsibilities

Marketing:

  • Manage the development of partnerships with local business partners, inclusive of attractions, holiday parks, hotel concierges and tourist information centres (etc.), to ultimately drive 'word of mouth' marketing and potential revenue-boosting, collaborative projects

  • Develop PR opportunities for all 3 Discover Hastings attractions. Organise and manage any on site media to achieve frequent, timely, and positive media coverage across all available media

  • Manage social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) to engage with our audience, share compelling content, and promote upcoming events and attraction updates

  • Convey a consistent brand image - acting as a guardian for the brand, ensuring that core images, logos, fonts and colours are always used properly and that no compromise is made on quality

  • Assist in developing and executing e-marketing campaigns to target specific demographics and drive ticket sales; sending our periodic and relevant e-shots

  • Maintain and update the company website with fresh content, event listings, animal details and ticketing information

  • Implement SEO strategies to improve website visibility and attract organic traffic

  • Utilise graphic design software to develop visually appealing graphics, videos, and other multimedia assets to support marketing campaigns.

  • Support the Commercial Manager in developing and delivering a detailed, annual marketing activity and events plan

  • Liaise with partner agencies to ensure the successful delivery of digital marketing campaigns; utilise trackers to monitor and analyse successes and improvement areas


  • Event Management:
  • Plan events alongside internal and external resources to achieve memorable and commercially successfully experiences, either when facilitating an event as a venue, or running our own event that differs from our day-to-day operations

  • Meet with prospective event producers and clients to promote the three attractions and our facilities

  • Collaborate with external suppliers and partners to maximise event success and achieve mutual marketing objectives

  • Work flexibly across our locations during events as a designated Events Manager, that may range across non-standard working hours


  • Reporting & Administration
  • Monitor and analyse the performance of marketing campaigns, social media metrics, website traffic, and event attendance

  • Prepare regular reports summarising key insights and recommending adjustments to optimise marketing efforts and event strategies

  • Assist in the delivery of various, periodic reports on behalf of the business, including but not limited to attraction performance vs. budgeted targets and previous year, and end of month deliverables

  • Follow the appropriate company purchasing processes, including raising purchase orders, documenting costs/spends, reconciling invoices accurately and ensuring our suppliers are paid in good time.

  • Support general customer communications whilst demonstrating a consistently positive yet relatable tone of voice - dealing with email enquiries, answering telephones and resolving customer feedback professionally.

  • To assist in fostering a culture of sharing best practices throughout the Aspro UK organisation

  • To be responsible for personal development, continually seeking to develop own skills and contribute to the success of the overall business

  • From time to time the company or General Manager may make reasonable requests for you to undertake duties not necessarily covered in the above

    Bachelor's degree (desired) or higher education qualification in Marketing, Events Management, Business Administration, or related field

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in marketing (and desirably events), within a relevant industry to our operations

  • Proficiency in digital marketing strategies including social media, email marketing, and content creation

  • Proven track record of planning and executing successful events to enhance visitor engagement and drive footfall

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal

  • Creative mindset with the ability to develop innovative marketing campaigns and event concepts, and experience utilising graphic design software to bring to life our brand

  • Knowledge of marketing analytics tools to track campaign performance and measure ROI

  • Knowledge of WordPress and maintaining / updating a website, securing the best visibility across search engines through SEO

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required for event coverage

  • Enthusiasm for the tourism sector and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
