Manufacturing Apprentice 2024 - Loughborough

As a Manufacturing Apprentice, you'll gain hands on experience across a range of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering teams. You'll assist in the development and manufacturing of Parker Meggitt's products and learn what it takes to be a successful Engineer in an innovative organisation., Throughout the apprenticeship, you'll learn a wide breadth of skills including engineering principles and theory to help you understand 'why' things work, as well as hands on machine use as you explore 'how' they work. With exposure to a diverse range of manufacturing processes like welding, vacuum brazing, and more, you'll build a strong foundation of engineering knowledge.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Calibrate machinery and perform test routines to ensure they are in working order


• A breadth of manufacturing processes such as welding, vacuum brazing, swaging, potting and many more


• Maintain Business Information Systems with content where appropriate


• Work in line with company procedures for health and safety


• Learn engineering principles such as lean manufacturing


• Manual Machining


• Gathers technical data to support product and working practice improvements


• Prepares and sets up equipment to support the teams daily tasks


• Captures notes and RAILS for technical meetings and tracks closure


• Ability to understand and follow specific basic instructions and procedure


• Ability to operate workshop equipment and tools


• Can follow troubleshooting process
