Full Job Description

  • Help steer and lead the brand visions/design look and feel and help take responsibility for the studio's output and day-to-day brand management and specifically:

  • + Senior Ally: The AVP/Head of Creative needs another strong and credible Manager Of. To work with the other Managers Of to co-develop strategies, implement change and galvanise the entire team on the bigger cross functional projects. Be part of a strong Manager Of team and sign off work in AVP's absence, attend meetings when requested on their behalf and advise counsel on all matters related to creative development, talent management and hiring. An expectation that this elevated senior Manager Of position would earn respect within the Creative Team and be automatically deferred to on any number of matters, issues and creative development.
    + Brand: Guide, adapt and ensure brand/design guidelines, design toolkits are on point, up to date and reflect any movement in the brands (TK & HomeSense) visual position/development across all channels.
    + E-com: Manage E-com designers and sell, sell, sell in a fun, refreshing and brand relevant visual look & feel, understanding of SEO and A/B testing/segmentation.
    + Digital/New media: Work closely with other Managers of Creative, the digital team and any external partners to deliver fresh, fun and relevant digital/ATL advertising and content
    + Charity: Lead, deliver and produce brilliant creative ideas and design for our chosen charity campaigns across all media
    + Openings/Stores: Create and execute integrated Grand Opening campaigns (across above and below the line, in-store, ambient and tactical)
    + In-store: Create fun and visually impactful design elements for one-off promotions or events in partnership with the graphic design team to deliver integrated comms and in-store campaigns.
    + Various Media: Help produce creative work for ambient media such as buses, lorries, bags, and one-off guerilla marketing
    + Direct/Door-drop: Work closely with any creative partners and the wider design team to deliver effective and intriguing direct mail and door-drop creative.
    + Collateral: Work with creative partners to provide great design for in-store promotions and collateral materials (e.g. corporate pack, ethical policies, company newsletter, leaflets, hand-outs etc.)
    + PR: Work alongside Communications team to enhance the visual elements for our brands for PR and charity projects as appropriate
  • Internal Branding

  • Ensure that brand values and brand identity created externally is reflected internally in the business. Provide art direction and visual assets for internal campaigns (HR, Distribution, Stores)

  • Creative identity

  • To help the Marketing/Brand VPs, and the Brand Director create creative platforms and central concepts for new umbrella brands and major charity campaigns

  • External agencies & freelancers

  • Help identify and work with chosen advertising agencies and freelance specialists for new ideas, campaign refreshment, and project work when appropriate e.g. broadcast, outdoor, instore, direct mail etc

  • Market Tracking

  • Maintain a strong commercial awareness of competitor's campaigns, creative directions and ensure freshness and trend familiarity in order to drive our campaigns forward and stand as world class retail creative

  • Department Leader

  • Provide strong/seasoned/flexible and fair guidance, support and vision for direct report team

  • Manage, coach and develop direct reports, providing strong and positive leadership

  • Manage other creative freelance help needed (partner with resource team at every step of the way)

  • Support the Creative Team, the Marketing Directors and the Brand Director in managing and setting the tone for the whole studio of creative people, by developing their expertise and careers within the business.

  • Help the of Managers of Creative/Digital within the Creative Team be successful and work in partnership with them all. Step-in to lead other brands/accounts when needed.

  • Be a strong voice and help be a brand guardian for the TJX Europe Brands and develop the brands appropriately in conjunction with other people in the creative team and the Marketing team in general

  • Organise and lead brainstorm sessions and share briefs/ideas as appropriate without being precious. Lead your team and be seen as flexible, creative and integrated team member for both Creative Team and all agencies and other COEs across the wider Brand & Marketing function

  • Help set a fun, spirited, kind and productive ways of working, be someone who is looked up to and freely consulted for help/guidence

    Must have ability to art direct and design for all creative assets/collateral. Must have an independent, contemporary and fresh design outlook. Must work in close relationship with creative partner(s) and provide effective complement to the other creative and copywriting teams

  • Proven experience in agency or other large creative team

  • Brilliant, class leading, highly professional portfolio with deep breath

  • Design related Degree or Diploma / breadth of industry and leadership experience

  • Experience in producing TV advertising

  • Experience of direct, web and digital design

  • Ability to respond to a creative brief in a variety of styles

  • An easy-going, enthusiastic and flexible approach

  • Strong influencing and networking skills

  • An ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple projects/tasks at once

  • Strong and clear communication skills

  • A love and huge sense of fashion knowledge is essential
