Full Job Description
- Preparation of month end management accounts for an Echo Business Unit, to include:
- Calculation of accruals and prepayments
- Journal posting in Oracle
- Preparation of the monthly P&L position
- Preparation/review of month end balance sheet reconciliations
- Analysis of actual results against budget and forecast, providing commentary on key variances.
- Review of monthly results with the Finance Business Partner for the Echo Business Unit.
- Analysis of cash position against budget and forecast, providing commentary on key variances.
- Ongoing review of financial processes and controls, making recommendations for improvement where necessary.
- First point of contact for accounting queries relating to the Echo Business Unit.
- Preparation of annual budget and quarterly reforecast for the Echo Business Unit with support from the Finance Business
- Supporting the Finance Business Partner with ad hoc requests for information where required.
- Supporting with the preparation of the monthly Group Reporting pack for SSPLC.
- Cross skilling with other Echo Management Accountant roles so cover can be provided as required.
Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA).
Partner.
Proven experience in utilities or other relevant industry.
Strong analytical and technical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
Familiarity with computer-based finance packages (Oracle experience preferred but not essential).
Speed and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Team player mindset and excellent communication skills.
Flexible working attitude.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
