Full Job Description

We are looking for a caring professional and self-motivated individual with good practical maintenance experience to join our home. You will be responsible for managing health and safety, undertake remedial work, and liaise with external contractors on work beyond the scope of repair and maintenance.
What will you be doing? Here are a few key parts of the role below

- Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all buildings, equipment, fire safety, legionella control.
- Ensure the home and grounds are kept in good state of repair and residents have access to all appropriate areas.
- Compliance with health and safety legislation throughout the home.
- Carry out day to day repairs and some refurbishment activity to maintain standards of the home
- Actively engage with staff, relatives and families as part of the care home team and regularly engage with residents
- Working closely with management team or nominated colleagues to make sure that our residents live in a place that is safe and well maintained at all times
- Ensuring that safety regular checks and servicing are carried out on all equipment and accurate records are kept
- Clearing and cleaning general areas
- Assembling furniture, painting and decorating

We are looking for someone who is friendly, welcoming, and who ideally has experience and an understanding of the care sector.

- Able to demonstrate health and safety awareness through discussion
- Experience of maintenance role
- Can do flexible team player, problem fixer, passion for what they do, ability to manage diverse and demanding workload, think out of the box, open to things differently.
- Good computer and IT skills
- Adheres to the policies and procedures in the organisation and Care Quality Commissions CQC guidelines, Disability Confident
