Full Job Description

This hugely desirable and rarely available position is now open for applications. St. Michael's Hospice is seeking an organised, hardworking individual to join our team. This rewarding role offers both variety and responsibility for maintaining our hospice facilities.

In this position, you will work alongside the existing Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and smooth operation of the Hospice buildings, grounds, and equipment.

You will manage small facilities maintenance projects, conduct risk assessments, and ensure statutory compliance with relevant health/safety and regulatory requirements. Proactively monitor the Hospice buildings and grounds, promptly reporting any health and safety concerns or areas needing attention.

You will support the existing Maintenance Manager with a broad range of duties, and you will be expected to proactively take part in planned preventative maintenance works and new projects.

The successful candidate will live and breathe the vision and values of the Hospice and be able to communicate well with colleagues, volunteers, patients, and visitors in a friendly, helpful, and respectful manner. A positive can-do attitude is critical to the applicant's success.

We would like to hear from you if you take real pride in your work and can turn your hand to various DIY and grounds work skills. Part of the role will also involve managing a small team of volunteers who generously give their time and effort to support St. Michael's Hospice.

The role requires an element of flexibility with some occasional work in the evenings or weekends. The successful candidate will also need to hold a valid UK driving licence.

We offer a competitive salary with attractive benefits, including, free parking, life assurance, 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and an extensive health and wellbeing plan and company pension.
