Full Job Description

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be undertaking repairs, maintenance and small minor works at RAF Fairford and RAF Welford. Your main responsibility will be the planned and reactive maintenance of electrical components on two of our sites.
Your work tasks will be distributed monthly by tablet, and you will be carrying out tasks such as distribution board inspections, light checks and inspecting and reporting faults.

You will also;

Complete compliance activity and minor works in accordance with JSP375
Undertake minor installation works e.g. refurbishment projects
Manage a schedule of work and ensure all associated administration duties are completed and submitted in a timely manner
Work with minimal supervision and have the ability to make decisions on the most appropriate repair solution.
Ensure all H&S documentation (RAMS) are present prior to engaging the task
Review and contribute to Risk Assessments and Method Statements to ensure they are to an acceptable standard and always ensure compliance
Work from drawings and specifications and other documentation without the need for direct supervision
To mentor apprentices as and when required
Liaise with the End User (Military), DIO and members of VIVO supply chain when required

A qualification in electrical including City and Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing including Compex Parts 1-4.
BS7671 18th Edition.
Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements including COSHH and RIDDOR.
This role will require you to travel to remote sites weekly therefore it is essential that you hold a clean and valid UK driving licence or can travel to remote locations without the use of public transport.

It is desirable that you have;

Experience of working on electrical assets within a commercial environment.
An accredited First Aid qualification.
An accredited Health and Safety qualification.
Membership of a relevant professional body.
Experience of operating within an MOD environment and have familiarity with geography and establishments within area of responsibility.

You must be able to pass SC Clearance to be considered for this role.
