Full Job Description

  • Comply with industry health, safety and environmental working practices and regulations

  • Become proficient in the application and use of a wide range of machine tools

  • Project and engineering manufacturing skills - hand fitting, milling and turning

  • Develop fitting and assembly skills

  • Carrying out other tasks and duties as directed that contribute to the required levels of performance and competence.

  • Learning engineering principles specific to the industry

  • Regular reviews between you, the college and the business to ensure you are receiving the support and knowledge you need to fulfil your role.

    EAL L3 Extended diploma in Machining (Development Knowledge) Level: 3

  • EAL L3 Extended diploma in Machining (Development Knowledge) minimum 720GLH.

  • Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Machining) (Development Technical Knowledge)

  • City and Guilds Machining technician (1273), Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Problem solving skills, Presentation skills, Number skills, Logical, Team working, Initiative, Non judgemental, Patience, GCSE or equivalent English and Maths (Grade C / 4 or above) Essential
