Full Job Description
Locum Junior Doctor (ST1/ST2) urgently needed. You will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality patient care within the NHS Trust healthcare system. The successful candidate will offer expert medical support, ensuring the effective diagnosis and management of a wide range of medical conditions.
Swiis are currently recruiting Junior Grade doctors (SHO) to cover both Long-term roles and Ad-hoc shifts across England .
Job Description:
Clinical Responsibilities:
· Provide medical care to patients with the support, guidance and supervision of senior doctors.
· Participate in core ward duties, patient rounds, and where requested outpatient clinics.
· Perform procedures and treatments as appropriate for the level of training and skill.
· Be flexible and work across various departments, with the benefit of experiencing different specialties.
· Multidisciplinary Team Partnership working: Work closely with nursing staff, allied health professionals, and senior doctors.
· Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
Training and Education:
· Be willing to engage in ongoing training and education to develop skills and medical knowledge.
· Where requested, attend teaching sessions, seminars, and conferences as required.
· Be willing to support, teach and supervising more junior staff or medical students.
Administrative Duties:
· Ensure accurate and up-to-date patient records are maintained.
· Complete discharge summaries and referral letters within the appropriate timeframe.
· Participate in audit and quality improvement activities where required.
On-Call Duties:
· Participate in the on-call rota, providing out-of-hours care as needed.
· Manage acute medical situations with the support of senior staff.
Medical Degree: A recognized medical degree from a reputable institution.
Registration: Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK, or eligibility for registration.
Evidence of Foundation Year 1 and 2 competencies, or equivalent experience.
Clinical Experience: Prior experience in clinical medicine, commensurate with an ST1/ST2 level doctor.
At least 6 months of NHS experience as an SHO or equivalent junior doctor role is compulsory
Skills and Competencies: Clinical competence and the ability to manage common medical conditions.
Good communication skills, including proficiency in English.
Ability to work as part of a team or independently as required.
Personal Qualities: Commitment to ongoing professional development.
As a locum you will need to work flexibly across various settings.
Empathy and the ability to provide patient-centred care is essential.
Desirable Qualifications: Additional qualifications or experience in a specialty relevant to the role is beneficial
Evidence of participation in research or quality improvement projects would be advantageous
Additional Requirements:
DBS Check: A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
Health Clearance: Fitness to practice, which includes occupational health clearance.
