An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Rheumatology team
within the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation
Trust. We are seeking a clinician with imagination, drive and
commitment to work in Morecambe Bay. You will be required to have appropriate experience in rheumatology and hold or be within 6 months of obtaining certification from the General Medical Council (CCT).
You will be expected to:
Provide specialist out-patient opinion and case management;
To contribute in the ongoing development of rheumatology services
for the local population across the Bay.
The role also involves participation in training and educational
activities , administrative, teaching, continuing medical education
and audit activities whilst maintaining clinical excellence within the
service.

Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Rheumatology team within the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT). We are seeking a clinician with imagination, drive and commitment to work across Morecambe Bay.
Full time, but applications would be welcome from those wishing to work part time.
This is a great opportunity to be part of the Rheumatology Department who are seeking a replacement Consultant Rheumatologist to join a team of 5 consultants, 4 specialist registrars, 3 GPSI's, specialist nursing staff and fully functional wider MDT, supported by input from all associated specialties.
This is a replacement post and we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and forward-looking rheumatologist. There is the option for a split GIM role and Rheumatology role.
The post is for a full-time contract (10 PAs) but the option to work flexibly (less than full time) exists if it is the candidate's preference. The job is available as soon as a successful candidate is appointed.

Working for our organisation
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
