Full Job Description

You want to work at a fast-paced and growing law firm. One that isn't stuffY and full of office politics. One that doesn't force you to do time-recording (we don't do that here). One that allows you to learn, grow, be supported but ultimately just get on with your job; when you want, from where you want, and without somebody looking over your shoulder/checking your billable hours every minute of the day.

Come and work with us at recLAW, the only firm of solicitors in the UK geared exclusively to the recruitment industry!

The small print (us lawyers love that, right?)...

- You: A litigator/disputes solicitor with commercial awareness and an understanding that client objectives/outcomes are the goal, rather than blindly following the law and procedure the same way every time.

- Your Superpowers: The work is predominantly contract and commercial disputes, debts and post-employment restraints, in both the High and County Courts across all tracks. You should be comfortable at all stages of pre-action, litigation and enforcement; but equally happy negotiating a deal when the time is right. Don't worry if you don't have any experience with the recruitment industry, you'll pick up the nuances of the industry in no time at all. PQE is also less important to us than the person and their ability to get the job done, so if you think this job sounds like the one for you then get in touch.

- Your Location: We have a brilliant office just a stone's throw from Hove Station but we also all work remotely when we want (sometimes from desert islands). That said, there needs to be some mix between remote and office, we all learn from each other and that just works better in the flesh; so the team self-manage who is in the office when, to ensure our team and clients get the best mix of support when they need it.

- Your Hours: Complete flexibility…if you are a night-owl, you can work through the night or if you are 5am in the gym bod then that works too. The work involves other people though, whether that is clients, opponents, barristers, the courts, witnesses or others; so availability for core hours (10am-3pm) on some days is key and ideally you should be able to commit to no less than the equivalent of 3/4 days a week. Equally, if your life makes that difficult or you want to work more or less hours, then let me know and we can find a way to make this work.

Your Money: The package we have in mind includes a £60-80k salary for fulltime (don't worry if you are outside this range, it is still worth a conversation), membership of our profit share scheme, hybrid working (from Hove, home and/or anywhere), an enhanced holiday package, our contributory pension scheme & health cover.

If you are keen but not sure that you are right for this, then contact me anyway! I would rather have a lovely chat with somebody that didn't work out, than you discount yourself because you think you don't tick every box.
