Full Job Description

Bristol or Manchester - You'll complete your training at one of our offices, then you'll have the option to work in a hybrid way, dividing your time between working from home and the office.

We're looking for legal secretary to join our family law team at Co-op Legal Services.

In this role you'll provide key administrative support our family department, making sure everything runs smoothly and our clients are receiving the best possible service. We'll look to you primarily to book appointments with our clients, own the billing process and create bundles and briefs, alongside some typing and organisation work. You'll work exclusively on private client family matters funded privately.

You don't need legal experience for this role, so if you have the secretarial skills we're looking for we can offer you the chance to build on your secretarial skills in an ethical business with exciting plans for the future.

What you'll do:

  • assist the solicitors with their cases

  • prepare trial bundles and briefs for counsel

  • take responsibility for the family law team post; manage any outgoing correspondence

  • be responsible for billing clients and processing customer cheques as well as raising invoices for any external services used

  • organise the storage of family law files accurately recording all data

  • some dictation and typing work

    previous experience as a secretary

  • strong literacy skills with excellent attention to detail

  • great communication and relationship building skills

  • excellent organisation and prioritisation skills within a fast-paced and varied role

  • excellent customer service skills
