Full Job Description

As Legal Counsel UK&I, you will be a member of the legal team who supports HP's businesses in the UK and Ireland, and you will report to the Country Counsel UK&I. This role will suit a commercial lawyer (5-8 years PQE) who seeks to be challenged within a dynamic and innovative environment.

You will be responsible for supporting transactions with UK&I based customers and channel partners and other legal matters, including:

  • Supporting the business in the negotiation of complex hardware, services or subscription-based software and/or services transactions, through direct or indirect routes-to-market, across HP's portfolio.

  • Advising the business on legal risks relating to sales activities with commercial customers, channel partners and consumers, including regarding distribution, non-standard commercial agreements, disputes and claims, and online sales.

  • Conduct legal review of global templates, programs, new product or service offerings and/or Go-To-Market initiatives, in collaboration with other legal team colleagues.

  • Contributing to the development and delivery of guidance and training to the business on legal topics, to mitigate the risks to the company and drive efficiency in the provision of the legal services.

    Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales

  • 5-8 years' PQE of relevant experience

  • Solid legal knowledge in all relevant areas

  • Experience in drafting and negotiation of sales, services and/or software transactions with private or public sector customers, partners and/or suppliers.

  • Experience in advising on complex, high value/risk contracts and other matters (which may include advice on commercial law, competition law, subscriptions, consumer protection, or consumer credit regulation).

  • Experience in liaising with business and other stakeholders, preferably including cross-functional collaborations.

  • Experience in working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to work independently and demonstrate strong organization skills and effectively own and manage multiple transactions and projects.
