Full Job Description

  • Plan a structured, rigorous and robust curriculum in line with the University of Portsmouth Franchise Partnership


  • Provide guidance and support in the preparation, delivery and assessment oflessons and academic guidance for trainee submissions


  • Use University of Portsmouth Moodle to mark student work in accordance with University requirements and timescales


  • Follow the University of Portsmouth Admissions process and HSDC recruitment procedures to enrol students in a timely and effective manner


  • Become experts within the University of Portsmouth Franchise including University documentation


  • Undertake joint observations to train and standardise Subject Mentors and summatively assess teaching practice


  • Liaise with Subject Mentors to ensure that they understand how to use the documentation and how to provide feedback and constructive criticism


  • Attend Franchised Team Meetings, Module Boards, Board of Examiners as required


  • Organise and host QA activities in conjunction with the university including moderation, Quality Assurance Visits and Ofsted inspections

    The Adult Learning team at HSDC is looking to recruit a passionate and experienced teacher to join our team and teach our Year 1 PGCE and Certificate of Education students. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of teaching and learning, and be able to provide our students with the support and guidance they need to succeed., Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.


  • PGCE or Cert Ed


  • At least 3 years of experience teaching


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent


  • Working towards (or have achieved) a Level 7 qualification such as a master's degree or equivalent (excluding PGCE)


  • Desirable
  • Previous experience of delivering teacher training or mentoring


  • Strong track record of outstanding teaching and learning


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Salary: Grade 5 Spine Point 19-26 £32,201.16 - £42,078.86 (Actual salary: £6,440.23 - £8,415.77)
