Full Job Description

The person appointed will perform various teaching and academic administrative duties associated with the delivery, quality control and enhancement of our academic programmes.

The individual appointed will be expected to deliver high quality teaching using lectures, workshops, other media and practical classes in various areas of physical and analytical chemistry to students studying on our M.Pharm. B.Sc. Pharmaceutical Sciences, B.Sc. Biosciences and various taught M.Sc. programmes.
The appointee will also be expected to develop and undertake high quality research (either fundamental or applied) in physical or analytical chemistry, as applied to the pharmaceutical and fine chemical industries.
Skills and experience required
The appointed person will have a good background using a wide variety of (bio)physical and (bio)analytical techniques as applied within the pharmaceutical, agrochemical or fine chemical industries.
The appointed person will possess specialist knowledge in physical or analytical chemistry sufficient to develop programmes in both teaching and research as evidenced by published research in physical or analytical chemistry along with the presentation and peer reviewed publication of such research., The person appointed will have a Minimum of an undergraduate degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification in relevant discipline, a PhD in Analytical Chemistry, or substantial industry experience at Postgraduate level in an analytical chemistry lab, or an MSc in Analytical Chemistry (relating to Pharmaceuticals) and proven work experience in an analytical lab.

Salary: UH7 starting at £37,099 to £41,732per annum with potential to progress to £44,263 per annum by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience
Annual Leave: 35 days per annum plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year
